Families across America have been affected by economic hardships and could use our support so we will be having a food drive! In exchange for a day full of laughter and fun we ask that each family bring a minimum of 2 canned/dry goods to be distributed to families in need.

2nd Annual Las Vegas World T’ai Chi Qi Gong Day

Directions: Exit US95 at Rancho Drive. Go North on Rancho Dr. to Washington Ave. Turn left (West) on Washington Ave. Go past the tennis courts and look to the left for the Rose Garden.

QiGong Grandmaster Yalu Huang, Sifu Reverend Steven Baugh and Kungfu Master Bilal Amin will be joining us to celebrate this FREE event!!! Warm-ups begin at 9am.

The Lohan School of Shaolin will perform the Traditional Chinese Lion Dance and the JACL will present the Traditional Kaminari Taiko Drums.

Demonstrations of T’ai Chi Fan, Sword and Kung Fu weapons will follow. Come and enjoy!

Lohans Return To The International Chinese Martial Arts Championship 2010

Twenty six Lohans traveled to San Diego to participate in the kick-off for the 2010 International Chinese Martial Arts Championship (ICMAC) which was the first gathering of the East and West Coast Shaolin schools. Even though the trip from Las Vegas to San Diego was through rainstorms, fog, blizzards, slush and hail, we all made it safely with no damage done to the securely wrapped lions and drum.

The Lions did a great job for the opening ceremony and again with the Masters demonstration at the end of the first day. Calexico Lohans from our sister school, “Temple of the Sun Martial Arts Academy” in California, joined us in a fast improvisation which added flair to our regular routine and can be seen on our website “lvlohans.org” then clicking on the link “You Tube-videos”.

Nine of our Lohans competed… and all of them came away with medals; which included gold, silver and bronze… some of them winning in more than one event.

Sifu Nick Scrima from Florida did a fabulous and successful job in putting on this long-awaited collaboration.

International Chinese Martial Arts Championship 2009

The Lohans participated in this event held at the Tuscany doing the lion dance for the opening ceremonies… Six black sashes as judges, plus nine competitors. All of them walked away with various medals and we are really proud of them. Plus at the Masters demonstration the Lohan School of Shaolin won the award for “Outstanding Sportsmanship” which our SiGung Steven Baugh accepted with pride.

The medal recipients were:

New Chuencharoenwon: Gold medal in women’s sparring.

Jason Ymson (Buddha Jay): Gold medal in Sanda (Chinese kick boxing – Heavy weight division).

Kathy (Kat) Corpus: Gold medal in Push hands, Bronze medal in Yang Tai Chi form, Silver medal in women’s northern form.

Ray Brown: Silver medal in Yang Tai Chi form, Bronze in Yang sword form.

Aaron Ortega: Bronze medal in Sanda (Chinese kickboxing – lightweight division).

Calum Sutton: Bronze medal in Mantis form (intermediate division).

Tara Tran: Silver medal in open hands forms (girls division), Gold medal in sparring (girls division).

Jet Sendel: Bronze medal open hand form, Silver medal in short weapons, Silver medal in Mantis form (intermediate division).

Jesse deChavez: Bronze medal in sparring (intermediate division), Silver medal in Hand forms (Teen division), Silver medal in Chinese sword fencing, Gold medal in staff (two man partner form), Gold medal in Mantis (intermediate division), Gold medal in short weapons form.

Jesse picked up the most medals.	Jet did great for a one year student.	11 year old Tara our youngest competitor.
Kat without a doubt was the prettiest competitor.	Ray Brown did our school proud with his forms.
