    • 12 noon – Dragon Boat races at Lake Las Vegas
      Lohans will be doing the lion and dragon dance – will be showing off the baby lions… and martial demos
    • 4:30pm Town Square
      Lion Dance featuring the hip hoppers for the “Imagination” festival… martial arts will also be included.
  • October 23 – Saturday
    2PM Lion dance
    Pure Aloha at Sunset Casino
    Admission is free… will also have a booth.
    Will also be selling raffle tickets for the event… $3.00 per… $1.00 goes back to the school.
    1st place winner who sells the most tickets will get a free trip to Hawaii.
    2nd prize, a jade bracelet.
    3rd prize, mobile lunch wagon will go to your place of business to offer free lunch.
    4th prize will be a $100 credit gas card and much more….

  • September 3rd, 4th, 5th
    International Chinese Martial Arts Championship (ICMAC)
    The Lohan School of Shaolin will be doing the Chinese Lion Dance opening/blessing at 10AM on Saturday the 4th. Dashi will again be the arbitrator, Louie Hendrickx will be one of the judges. We are still looking for volunteers to do time/score keeping. There will be 14 participants from the school who will be competing… all are welcome.
  • September 7th – 20th
    The movie “Sanctioned to Die” will be scheduled to begin shooting. The Lohan School has several of their students cast for different roles in the movie. Kathy Corpus (Kat) will be the lead femme fatale, the Ortega brothers, Aaron and EZ will be 2 of the fighting “thugs”, Raul Escobar will be a bodyguard for the mafia, Nadia Maura will play a prostitute, her sister Asha will be assisting the cinematographer, Ivan Rodriguez to take the still shots, plus the school will be part of a scene… and will be helping wherever they can in providing whatever is needed… it will be a fun time!
  • September 11th, Saturday
    The Hawaiian Ho’olualea Festival is on again at the Henderson cultural Center and the School will be performing the Lion dance and martial demos.
  • September 25th, Saturday
    The Spring Reserve is having their first Moon Festival featuring various cultural groups. Lohan School will be performing the lion dance and demos.

    Blogs: The annual camping trip for the Lohans was a great experience for the students. We camped at Cave Lake outside of Ely… the weather was beautiful and we did get to eat fish caught by the few lucky ones… enough to feed us all… the only tiresome thing was the drive… 4 and a half hours…

    On Tuesday July 28th… the school played host to 35 day campers (ages 6 thru 11) on a field trip with the City of Las Vegas… We entertained and demonstrated for 2 hours to a very enthusiastic group… they even got to participate in a few basic routines for kids…

    Lots of Leo birthdays this month…
    August 8 – Saturday – Blue Jay’s wife Shanya is celebrating her birthday with a bash at her place… we’ll have to squeeze in our wishes in between the tournament schedule…

    August 15 – Saturday, we’ll be celebrating our school mascot (Baby Xavier) 2nd birthday at Dashi’s place… should be fun…
