August 7, 8, 9 – Friday, Saturday, Sunday – International Chinese Martial Arts Championship to be held at the Tuscany Hotel… the Lohans will be participating both as Judges and competitors. Here is the schedule:
Friday
12 noon – Registration opens for both competitors and workshops
4PM – 9PM-Seminars and workshops in Session… Registration closes
9PM – Mandatory Officials Meeting
Saturday
8AM – 9:30PM – Registration
9:30AM – Opening Ceremony (Lohan Lion Dancers)
10AM – Competition Begins
5PM – Competition Ends for the day
7:30PM – Masters & Teams Demonstration
Sunday
8AM – 11AM – Seminars/Workshops in Session
11AM – Competition Resumes
Sparring, Push Hands & Chi Sao
5PM – All Competition Ends
Spectator Tickets are $25 – Adults & $15 – Kids (12 & under)
August 10 – Monday
Lion Dance for the LV Metro Police Department – the NAPOA Conference (NAPOA stands for National Asian Police Officers Association) It will be held at the Palms Hotel in the AM – TBA.
August 22 – Saturday
Lion Dance/Full Demo for the Back to School Fair Committee held at College of Southern Nevada (CSN) – Cheyenne Campus – TBA

Blogs: The annual camping trip for the Lohans was a great experience for the students. We camped at Cave Lake outside of Ely… the weather was beautiful and we did get to eat fish caught by the few lucky ones… enough to feed us all… the only tiresome thing was the drive… 4 and a half hours…
On Tuesday July 28th… the school played host to 35 day campers (ages 6 thru 11) on a field trip with the City of Las Vegas… We entertained and demonstrated for 2 hours to a very enthusiastic group… they even got to participate in a few basic routines for kids…
Lots of Leo birthdays this month…
August 8 – Saturday – Blue Jay’s wife Shanya is celebrating her birthday with a bash at her place… we’ll have to squeeze in our wishes in between the tournament schedule…
August 15 – Saturday, we’ll be celebrating our school mascot (Baby Xavier) 2nd birthday at Dashi’s place… should be fun…
